The catalytic reforming catalyst can change the chemical reaction rate, and its quality and chemical properties remain unchanged before and after the chemical reaction; it has high efficiency, selectivity, specificity and a certain activation temperature.

In addition, reforming catalysts have relative specificities:

 

(1) Most of the reforming catalysts are bifunctional catalysts—metal function and acid function;

(2) The catalyst reforming catalyst carrier is alumina with large surface area;

(3) The reduced reforming catalyst has high activity. In order to prevent the catalyst bed from heating up, it must be passivated before feeding into the oil;

(4) The reforming catalyst is required to operate under hydrogen ambient conditions and requires strict water-chlorine balance.

The reformed gasoline can be directly used as a blending component of gasoline, and can also be extracted from aromatic hydrocarbons to produce benzene, toluene and xylene. By-product hydrogen is an important source of hydrogen for petroleum refinery hydrotreating units (such as hydrotreating, hydrocracking).
